Privacy Policy for Code Styler

1. Introduction

Welcome to Code Styler ("we," "our," or "us"). Code Styler is a Google Docs add-on that formats code paragraphs into a cleaner, more readable style. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle data when you use our add-on.

2. Information We Collect (or Do Not Collect)

No Personal Data Collection: We do not collect, store, or share any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, or Google account credentials.

No Document Content Storage: Code Styler accesses only the Google Doc you currently have open, solely to format the selected code and apply styling. All processing is done within the Google Apps Script environment. We do not send, transfer, or store your document content or code snippets on any external servers.

3. Google OAuth Permissions (Scopes)

To function properly, Code Styler requests the following permissions via Google OAuth:

• https://www.googleapis.com/auth/documents.currentonly: Allows the add-on to access only the document you currently have open — it reads the selected text (your code) and updates it with formatted styles. The add-on cannot access any of your other Google Docs.

4. Data Security

Since no data is transmitted to external servers, your data remains completely secure within your own Google account infrastructure. We comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. Google User Data Usage

Code Styler accesses Google Docs content only when the user explicitly requests code formatting.

The application:

• Does not store document content.
• Does not transfer document content to external servers.
• Does not share user data with third parties.
• Does not use user data for advertising.
• Does not use user data for analytics or profiling.
• Does not use user data to train AI or machine learning models.

Code Styler's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

6. Revoking Access

You can revoke Code Styler's access to your Google account at any time by visiting Google Account Permissions, finding Code Styler in the list, and clicking Remove Access.

Since we do not store any of your data on external servers, there is no additional data deletion request required.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective Date."
